The people of Western
province this morning
refused to sing the
Zambia National Anthem
when they opened their
much talked about
meeting in Mongu.
The delegates led by
their Prime Minister
Clement Sinyinda instead
sang the Barotse
National anthem- in Lozi.
No reason was given for
not singing the official
national anthem
although the PF
government minster for
Western province was in
attendance. He was just
blinking in apparent
confusion.
Mwebantu,
It seems Zambians never learn, and I have come to appreciate our great distaste for
lessons, especially lessons from the past.
There has been an outcry from many quarters, especially directed at some of us who are calling for a full disclosure on the Presidents health. Why should the President’s health be such a closely guarded state secret? Why can’t the masses be told what ailments he may be struggling with?
Perhaps, the contradictions may be that Zambian’s just live in denial, most of them do or it could even be a lack of knowledge.
In opposition, Michael Sata had his daggers drawn, he enjoyed mocking his opponents over ill health. In fact he was so good at it that he had managed to draw everyone’s attention to George Kunda’s red lips. Kunda suffered, at one point the opposition leader claimed Kunda could not survive if he were to be in the opposition.
Today George Kunda is alive and kicking and very much in the opposition.
During the formative stages of the PF when the late Anderson Mazoka was alive and when the UPND was the bulwark of opposition politics in Zambia, the PF leader shocked everyone when he claimed Mr. Mazoka could not fit in his trousers.
As if that was not enough, the man he used to call the ‘Cabbage also suffered at his hands, when President Mwanawasa was critically ill, he seemed not have cared much about the President’s health but the impeding By-Election.
The evidence is there for all to see, he even took it a step further and wrote to the Chief Justice requesting for 9 medical Doctors to be flown out of the country just to certify Mwanawasa was not fit to hold the Office of the President; in simple terms, ensure that he was not fit to continue so that he takes over.
And then there is this worrying marriage in Zambian political circles, this union has the potential to stifle free speech. These days, it has given birth to what they are calling the Bwinjinfumu government, of course they are partners who never share the same matrimonial bed, after all one is along Bwinjinfumu road in the leafy suburb of Rhodespark.
And from Rhodespark we had a screaming headline accusing the UPND of celebrating because the President is or was sick, depending on whom you choose to believe. The tabloid is playing double standards, such journalism has come to epitomize what happens when ethics jump out of the window in exchange for government patronages and favours.
Is it not the same private newspaper that also found joy in celebrating other people’s ill health?
Whether or not some of us are seen to be the devil’s advocate or heartless beings, what we are doing are the same politics Constable Chilufya was plying when he was fighting for State House. Now that he is there, is he supposed to get comfortable?
We will apply the same political furnace he used in his opposition day’s and subject him to a rigorous trot for the 5 yrs only he will spend in Plot 1.
A lot has happened in the 5 month's of this Presidency, and a lot will happen.
Get well soon Mr. President, what is good for the goose is good for the gander!

I like the Post Newspaper's stance on the Barotse Land Agreement. One thing is very clear here. That document has many selfish elements in it hence the government's reluctance in honoring it. To all Barotse activists, there are much more important issues to talk about than that selfish document. We are One Zambia, One Nation and we should all live as one. We do not want to see "animal farm" behavior here. All animals must be equal.

LETTER TO DEAN NAMULYA MUNGOMBA
Today 18 April, six years ago, our dear friend and comrade Dean Mung'omba answered the Lord's call. He died while he was on duty. He died while demanding for a new constitution for Zambia. Now that the constitution-making process has collapsed, we have decided to write a letter to him, and he has responded to our letter.
Dear Dean!
Up to now we still do not have a new Republican Constitution. But one historic event happened on 29 March 2011, when people's power defeated government's deception in Parliament. Our government wanted to give the people of Zambia a fake amended constitution which did not contain the substantive issues that people wanted to be in the new constitution, such as the 50 per cent + 1 as the winning threshold for the president elect, and the swearing in of the president-elect after ninety days instead of the current "not later than 24 hours".
We have fond memories of you wanting to see a people-driven constitution review process. Several times you stated that you were ready to even die to have a new constitution before the 2006 general elections. When you were appointed as a constitution review commissioner, you resolved to use that position to ensure that the process was people-driven. You were among many Zambians who were not happy with the way government wanted to take the constitution review process using the Inquiries Act, but you promised to use your position as commissioner to help resolve the contentious issues surrounding the constitution-making process. We remember how, when you were not listened to, you stepped down as a commissioner. You said you "would not fool Zambians by participating in the CRC when there were a lot of issues that were unresolved." (The Post, 18 August 2003, p.1)
After you were decommissioned on Saturday 8 November 2003, you foretold that the constitution review process was not going anywhere. You said that the emphasis on submissions to the CRC was deceit by government because Zambians had always been called to make submissions to the CRC but at the end they did not have a Constitution (Cf. The Post, 11 November 2003, p. 6). Again, five months after being decommissioned you reminded us, and described the entire constitution review process a disaster (Cf. The Post, 22 April 2004, p. 2).
You know what Dean, after you had passed on, government continued with their deception. They gave us a National Constitutional Conference (NCC) which was widely rejected by the majority of well-meaning Zambians. The Church mother bodies boycotted participating in it because they knew that its product would be a disaster. And indeed, the NCC product was a disaster. And this led to the defeat of the Constitution (Amendment) Bill by the people of Zambia through their representatives assembled in Parliament. As indeed prophesied by many of us in 2007, the NCC was simply a conduit of siphoning state resources into individual pockets. In excess of two hundred billion kwacha (K200,000,000,000) was wasted on this process. What a waste of resources?
Indian firm Refutes State House Report That Sata Met Its MD.
THE Indian company whose
Managing Director State
House is claiming met with
President Sata over the
weekend has said it is “not
sure if our Managing Director
met your President.”
According to press statement
released by the President’s
special assistant for press and
public relations George
Chellah this morning,
President Sata held an
investment promotion meeting
with the Chairman and
Managing Director of UMEID
group of Hotels in
Ahmedabad, Gujarat, West
India, Ummeid Champawat.
There, President Sata is said
to have invited the Indian
chain of hotels to come and
invest in Zambia.
President Sata said the
Zambian Government was
ready to facilitate investment
in the hotel industry.
This is in the President’s
continued efforts to woo
investors into Zambia.
The statement goes on to say
President Sata assured
Champawat of his
administration’s readiness to
work with investors who would
contribute to the development
of tourism in the country.
UMEID group of Hotels is
operated by the Taj Hotel
Group of companies, which
already has interest in
Zambia, that owns Pamodzi
Hotel.
Chellah also stated that
President Sata was flanked
during the meeting by
Zambia’s High Commissioner
to India Ambassador Susan
Sikaneta and First Secretary
for Press and Tourism at the
Mission, Bwalya Nondo.
He added that Champawat,
who was accompanied by The
Gateway Hotel General
Manage Darius Merchant, said
his company was eager to
invest in Zambia.
But responding to a press
query sent by The
Independentpost.net (TIP), the
UMEID group of Hotels
communications department
said they were yet to find out
if their managing Director
really met President Sata.
“We are not sure if our
Managing Director met your
President. We are yet to find
out if there was such a
meeting.
“But we will inform you as
soon as we find out more,”
read the e-mail.
Apparently, the
announcement of the
President’s latest engagement
in India was meant to settle
the dust on the growing
speculation that he has gone
to India to seek treatment;
despite assurances by
government officials that he is
in that country for a private
visit. But this claim from
UMEID group is likely to again
raise more speculation about
the health of the 75-year-old
Sata who is reported to have
been discharged from hospital
today.

LOAD SHADING IN ZAMBIA
What every Zambian wants to know is a solution for now, for this instance, and I think the best is to ask the Manufacturing companies to reduce on power consumption and to invest in modern energy efficient equipment. And the biggest contributor to the shortage of power in Zambia isnt the Zambian people alone but the growing mining activities more mines have been established like Lumwana Kansanshi and the new mine yet to be commissioned in Luanshya and yet the power that ZESCO generates still remains the same. For now What ZESCO with the help of government needs to do is ask these mining companies to produce more or work more during the off peak hours when less people are using electricity, offer these people incentives to work during those times and not just punish the innocent Zambian citizens with load shading.
The Induna says the true boundary of Barotseland covers Namwala, Livingstone and Kazungula in Southern Province. He also talks of the Lochner Concession signed by King Lewanika. He says North Western Rhodesia covered the line from the southern tip of Lake Bangweulu to the Northern tip of KAFUE RIVER. Barotseland, North Western Rhodesia and North Eastern Rhodesia joined together to form Northern Rhodesia in 1909.

To all my friends especially men, there is a report in today' post under life-style carring a headline "Sperm-hunting Women Prowl Zimbabwe Highwaysy" it is said that sensational reports of gangs of beautiful women picking up male travellers to have sex and harvest their sperms in condoms and cash them out for retuals. The victims are being drugged, subdued at gun or knif point even with live snake in one case given a sexual stimulant and forced into repeated sex before being dumped. one woman was arrested with 31 used condoms in a plastic bag. Thse cases occured mostly when the victimes were hitch-hiking and boarded private vehicles. It is not clear what is the use of this sperms, whether it is for retuals like bring luck, anything from enhancing fortune, boosting business or preveting a criminal from being detected. This is a timly worning and advice to my fellow men to be careful coz this vice could b in Zambia as well.

In Africa you are considered to qualify to be a leader when you are older...when and how will the African youth be properly positioned to gain the rightful status we need and contribute well to our leadership process on the continent? Its sad but the real fact, considering the high seat of presidency, the average age of the African leaders is 77. In no order of specialty: Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe (88 years), Abdulai Wade of Senegal (85), Paul Biya of Cameroon (79), Bingu Wa Mtalika of Malawi (76), Ellen Johnson Sirleaf of Liberia (76), Hifikepunye Pohamba of Namibia (75), Algeria’s Abdelaziz Bouteflika (76), Michael Sata of Zambia (75), Jose Eduardo Dos Santos of Angola (70), and Jacob Zuma of South Africa (71). If this is sad case, why wouldn't I agree with Thabo Mbeki (even though he is also a thread of the older generation) when he chides:- “To ensure that the youth actually exercises the leadership everybody rhetorically accepts and proclaims is its due, the youth must organise and ready itself to rebel, so to speak.”

The United Republic of Tanzania is a country in East Africa bordered by Kenya and Uganda to the north, Rwanda, Burundi, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the west, and Zambia, Malawi, and Mozambique to the south. The country's eastern border lies on the Indian Ocean.

"We don't want to rejoice in one being sick; he is our President. But we deserve to know where he goes because is our President. For the purpose of information for the Zambians to know where their President is, that man is not a common man; he's no longer a cadre or what, he's a Republican President," Nyangu said.
"For us we don't wish him bad, what we want is just to know that our President is not okay, he's gone for medication. And if you recall very well the same President said there will be no Zambian going abroad for treatment; nobody will go for treatment, they'll be treated here in Zambia."
Nyangu said his message was meant to remind President Sata of what he said when in opposition.

Barotseland's Open windows of Heaven
From the moment the Rt Hon Clement Sinyinda, was announced as the new Prime Minister of Barotseland, a heavy load of slavery, intimidation and oppression seemed to have been lifted from our shoulders_ we barotses.
Hon. Sinyinda, seemed to have been the hidden answer to all our troubles with the GRZ.
Indeed, it was proved when he embarked on a tour of zambia meeting barotses and others along his way. the weak and doubting, he gave a strong shot of encouragment. his voice was so powerful and authoritative that even those who were still doubting the freedom of barotseland, instantly beleived after meeting him.
we believe we are in safe hands, and indeed, barotseland is headed for a new era, new dimesion.....

Teachers
You are busy educating Tswanas leaving your own relatives in Zambia uneducated and you are proud? All of you were educated by your parents who never even finished standard 7 and struggled to educate you and you run away from them?
Doctors
Your relatives are dying in Zambia and you are busy saving tswana lives?
Accountants
Botswana has only 5 shops and you call your self an accountant when Diamond mines want a consultant they will call a South African and not a Zambian, what are you still doing here?
Enginneers
There are no potholes in Botswana and President Khama has told me that Zambian Engineers designed the roads, when you go to Petauke and Katete there are so many potholes where the same engineers come from. Are you not ashamed of yourselves? Some of your relatives in the villages have never seen a tarred road and you are busy designing Botswana roads? No patriotism at all

Well-placed sources said there was excitement in the UPND following President Sata's trip to India because they believe the President was unwell.
"We warned the people of Zambia that President Sata was not fit and unwell and will not complete his term of office. He's a sick man whose return we doubt because the operation he's undergoing is serious and chances of survival are fifty-fifty. Most of our members are happy because this gives us an opportunity to lead the country," one UPND senior member said.
These UPND guys are animals! We can criticize Sata but not, we mean, not wish him dead. Please!

Mimie,
I wondered why she did this?
Why would she send us an offering? I wondered.
Especially since we hardly ask for offerings
or donations in our ministry.
Then I opened her email.
Here's what she said:
"Dear Elisha,
I am so glad I am writing to you with a heart
full of joy.............
I have so many testimonies to share, it has been
a journey of wonderful happenings since I came
upon your site in February 2008.
You know I came to know about your site one day
when I asked the holy spirit to teach me how to pray...
Then I believe he lead me to the computer, and the moment
i started to search for teachings on "How to pray"
I was lead to your site..
and the teachings I have been getting since,
have changed my life completely.
I purchased all your materials last year January 2009
and joined the prayer academy....
I was single at the time and totally broke.. I used
my entire salary to purchase the materials coz,
I knew they would give me key I needed....
I started praying and in July an old friend I hard met
2 years ago started communicating and in October
he proposed marriage....
We marry in December this year and he is everything
I have believed God for in a Life partner....
After this, I then started to help a 29 year old friend
of mine and my 27 years old sister who seemed
to have been having trouble finding life partners.
Praise God they both have partners now. My sister is
getting married in July next year... so is my friend...
The journey has been amazing... and I also helped
my other sister using your materials who was having
trouble with her husband...
He used to drink a lot and he would come home very late...
But glory to God he now has started coming to church
and she tells me they wake up together every day
at mid night to pray..
She testifies he has started coming home early
and there is a huge change in her marriage.
Praise the Lord!!
At the time I purchased your materials I hard been fired
from work due to an accusation I was not guilty of.
But in the first 4 weeks of the Prayer Academy,
the whole situation was reversed and I even got
a 50% salary increment.
What a wonderful God we save.
I have been recently believing God for a financial
breakthrough to start up a business.
And I have been using "The # 1 Secret for
getting out of Debt that Nobody Talks About"
manual.
I stated the process on Friday 21 and on Saturday
some one gave me some money.
But I decided to plant it.. and then on Monday
I reaped a 100 fold of my planting.
But I believe this is seed the Lord has provided for me
to plant again.
And I would like to plant it in your ministry.
I have been asking God to guide me were I should plant. ..
I have been doing a lot of charity work lately according
to the leading of the Holy Spirit and I am also a faithful
tither in my local church....
|
But I feel I should plant my sacrificial offering
into your ministry.
You ministry has been of great help to my life and my family.....
My whole family has been changed
Many thanks
- Memory S, Lusaka, Zambia
Praise the LORD!
This sister obviously understands the key principle
of Kingdom economics ...
... that makes God's Economy to stand head and
shoulders above this worldly system ...
... which is directly controlled and manipulated by
the giant casino known as Wall Street.
Believers who know how to operate in God's Economy --
- never lack
- do not live in debt
- always ask the Holy Spirit where to sow
their seeds for a bountiful harvest.
NOW, it makes me sad to see so many believers
struggle with massive debt... so we'll be confronting
this problem head on shortly, God willing.
With 3 drawn-out prayer sessions to break
the slave chains of debt permanently.
For the scripture says in Nahum 1 verse 9:
"What do ye imagine against the LORD?
He will make an utter end: affliction shall not
rise up the second time"
Now is the time to rise up and declare like this:
"Every satanic investment eating up my finances
be destroyed by the power in the blood of the lamb."
Be An Overcomer!
elisha
PS: For the kind of prayer intensive that
will open the floodgates of blessings in your
life...
I humbly suggest you join the strongest prayer
